Terms of Service
1. The service
materiascope (the "Service") is a web platform providing AI-assisted materials engineering tools: conversational assistance, material selection support, generation of hypothetical material concepts, and a materials knowledge base drawing on open scientific databases (Materials Project, OQMD, Open Materials Database, RepOD).
2. Accounts and subscriptions
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential.
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis and can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period.
- Usage limits apply per plan; abuse (automated scraping, resale of output at scale, circumvention of limits) may result in suspension.
3. No engineering warranty — important
AI-generated content, including material recommendations, property values and proposed material concepts, is provided for informational and research purposes only. It may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. It does not constitute engineering advice and must not be used as the sole basis for the design, certification or manufacture of any product, in particular safety-critical products. You are responsible for independent verification (testing, standards compliance, professional review) before any engineering use.
4. Intellectual property
- You retain rights to the inputs you submit. You receive a right to use the outputs generated for you, to the extent permitted by law.
- The Service, its design, code and curated content remain the property of the operator.
- Data retrieved from third-party databases is subject to those databases' own licenses and citation requirements.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to develop weapons (including chemical, biological, nuclear or energetic materials intended to cause harm), to violate export-control or sanctions law, to infringe third-party rights, or to attempt to compromise the Service's security.
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is"; the operator's aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including consumer rights under Polish and EU law).
7. Termination, changes, governing law
- You may delete your account at any time; we may terminate accounts violating these terms.
- We may amend these terms with 14 days' notice; continued use constitutes acceptance.
- These terms are governed by Polish law; EU consumers retain protections of their country of residence. Disputes may also be submitted to the EU ODR platform.
